SPACE PLANNING

The term ‘space planning’ appears in the 1990s, when large companies aim to optimize and adapt their office spaces. The birth of open spaces accompanies this new way of considering professional surfaces, in particular by decompartmentalizing and making them more flexible (for better and worse). 

Although economic reasons were often dominant at the time, these approaches nevertheless paved the way for multiple experiments. In particular, they enable the establishment of diversified activities and uses within initially single-functional buildings, allowing a potentially enriching brewing of users.
